1.  Lord, how often have you heard,
through the ages, down the years,
lonely, anguished people cry
from the depths of their distress?

2. Lord, how often have you heard
bitter disappointed words:
"In this world of pain and hurt
Will we ever see some good?"

3. Teach us now, O Lord, to hear,
for your answer cost you dear,
From the cross and from the tomb
God has whispered: I love you!

4.  See, the God who died and lives
hear the answer that He gives:
"Life and hope will never die!"
Let it be your freedom cry!
