Suggested Tune Blessed Assurance (Irregular)

1. Can there be hope then that we might sing
one day in that place where Jesus is King
If it be so hard to enter in
are we not lost here, bound up in sin?
Glory to Jesus, Light of the World:
He is the Way before us unfurled.
Nothing at all impossible now;
what we could ne'er, He does in His power.

2.  There are no coin slots op'ning these gates
No fee to enter, no bargain to make
All wealth is nothing, "nothings" are rich
Here in this Kingdom where last becomes first!
Glory to Jesus, Lamb that was slain:
He is the price for all of us paid.
There is no more that needs to be done
We are made heirs through Jesus the Son.

3. Why then do we hold our treasures so dear?
What makes us clutch them with unholy fear?
Why can we not share our grain and our rice?
Has life no value, has death no price?
Glory to Jesus, Lover of souls:
He shed His glory, yes, He gave His all
Nothing at all impossible now;
what we could ne'er, we do in His power!
